NTN with the nrf9151?

Do you have any idea when we’ll be able to connect to NTN satellites via Skylo?

I know that it already works as Nordic was demoing it but I have not done it myself, yet. 😊

Gotcha! Yeah from what I could tell the firmware that enables this isn’t publicly available. Just thought I’d see if anyone had figured it out.

It looks like the nRF9151 SoC has been certified by Skylo. However, there’s no firm date from Nordic Semi yet. They do plan to support NTN in a future modem firmware release.

I ended up reaching out to Nordic directly. Sounds like the currently available nrf9151 will NOT support NTN, despite their website saying that a firmware update would essentially unlock this capability.

There will be an updated nrf9151 in a few months that will support it.

Correction to my comment above. The nRF9151 certification for NTN support at Skylo is under progress. So, they’re most likely using the next nRF9151 hardware revision.
