Roughly, what does it cost to get Verizon certification for a device based on the nRF9151 feather?

How does this work on AT&T and T-mob networks? Do they not care who gets on their network as long as there is a valid SIM card?

@cbrake the cost is your time unless they’ve changed things. If you do self certification they send you the equipment. I did it very early on when the program was new so it was quite frustrating. I’m sure it’s more optimized and Nordic has better support for it now.

For T-Mobile Germany, the certification of the modem is sufficient, as long as your deployment is below 10.000 devices. Above there are some regulations you need to obey and get certified not to overload the network.

I’ll add that their certification is more toward final applications on Verizon. They’re essentially testing the lwm2m client that you are required to package in your final app that supports network device management. Not something that makes too much sense for a do-it-all type board like the nRF9151 Feather unless I certify it against a generic AT firmware type application.

Does Verizon currently allow the nRF9151 Feather with a Hologram card on their network without certification?

I’ve been having success using the BG96 modem (VZ end device certified) + Hologram on Verizon networks, but our Linux host app has NOT been certified, so not sure if the lwm2m client is buried in the BG96 modem and it’s doing autonomous FW updates without us knowing …

@cbrake I have not tested it. I believe the IMEI needs to be whitelisted.
