  • SIM and .bin files with newtmgr

Finally got a chance to work with the nRF9160-Feather:
D:\Downloads\nRF9160-Feather>newtmgr -c serial image upload serial_lte_modem.bin
173.52 KiB / 173.52 KiB [=======================================================================================] 100.00% 15.54 KiB/s 11s
Done
I used the serial_lte_modem_bb259bf.zip and renamed it serial_lte_modem.bin and loaded it with newtmgr but nothing, green led on constant, yes I re-powered the device. This upload was after the:
newtmgr -c serial image upload at-client-v1.3.2.bin
and it did the same, nothing.
After waiting on Verizon to get back to me I tried a Hologram SIM, I have many, but the feather was running something and it was hard to get a AT command in. I wanted to try another vendors SIM that does work with Verizon but first I need an AT interface. Seemed simple enough, DFU load bin…. both bin files are under 150K

    K2AAE when it completes reset the device so it starts running. Otherwise it stays in boot loader mode. You can also run:

    newtmgr -c serial reset

    which will reset and start running.

      jaredwolff It is dead, I can put it into DFU mode, the blue LED lights up along with the green led then do newtmgr -c serial reset and it resets the feather but the feather is dead. checked the modem firmware before and it is 1.2.1 were the AT and LTE modem .bin files built with 1.3.1 SDK?
      I just installed 1.3.1 SDK, have to west it and then edit the proj file I guess to build the AT sample. Maybe tomorrow, dealing with the V people wore me out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFsZSWPIUH4 .

        K2AAE were the AT and LTE modem .bin files built with 1.3.1 SDK?

        I believe so.
